Tree Protection Plan

Our Tree Protection Plans (TPP) identify the location of protection measures such as tree protection fencing, temporary ground protection and tree pruning, offering contractors a straightforward visual plan.

15+ YEARS EXPERIENCE

NAVIGATE DEVELOPMENT AND TREE PROTECTION WITH PRECISION

Ensure successful tree retention with a Tree Protection Plan.

We take satisfaction in providing comprehensive Tree Protection Plans (TPP) as part of our Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS) or as a separate instruction from our clients.

TPPs are precise, scaled drawings that include the locations and above and below-ground constraints of trees and the tree protection measures that need to be put in place to ensure the safe and long-term retention of those trees that have been proposed for retention as outlined in the approved
Arboricultural Impact Assessment.

Our Tree Protection Plans are plotted directly onto the Proposed Scheme drawing or approved Masterplan using AutoCAD.

Tree Protection Plans. What's included?

Tree Protection Plans are just as vital as the previous steps, from the first BS5837 Tree Survey for planning to the Impact Assessment (AIA) and Method Statement. Our Tree Protection Plan will ensure that your planning application surpasses the requirements for planning validation.  We've spent years developing TPPs that are simple for contractors to understand and implement during the development phase.

Our Tree Protection Plans demonstrate:

  • Trees to be retained, clearly identified, with accompanying Root Protection Areas (RPAs) as defined by BS5837:2012 and buffers, where necessary.

  • The correct location for the installation and placement of tree protective barriers. This will encompass at least the minimum Root Protection Area (unless additional protection measures are shown to be in place) to achieve a construction exclusion zone (CEZ).

  • Other tree protection measures' precise location (for example, temporary ground protection, erection of scaffolding in the RPA, retention of existing subbases, or hardstanding to prevent soil compaction).

  • A schedule of facilitation tree pruning and management (frequently outlined in the AIA or Method Statement) however, may include additional pruning only obvious after contractors' spatial requirements were determined.

  • Specific protection measures required for the installation of underground services.

WE STAND FOR INNOVATION IN TREE PROTECTION

We're working on innovative TPPs.

We are pioneering the evolution of Tree Protection Plans (TPPs) by incorporating innovation into every detail. Recognising the need for seamless communication and comprehensive guidance between consultants and contractors, we're introducing QR code integration within our TPPs.

This forward-thinking approach transforms static paper documents into dynamic, interactive resources that bridge the gap between technical details and on-site execution.

UNLOCKING INFORMATION INSTANTLY

Our Tree Protection Plans will feature a unique QR code, unlocking a wealth of information instantly. Contractors, equipped with smartphones or tablets, can effortlessly scan these codes, gaining direct access to Technical Guidance Notes specific to the protection measures in question.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

This not only speeds up decision-making on-site, but also guarantees that every member of the construction team understands the complexities of tree protection procedures and that trees are better conserved for future generations.

THE FUTURE OF ON-SITE IMPLEMENTATION

In addition to QR codes, we are currently exploring the realm of 3D models and Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance on-site interpretation. By integrating three-dimensional representations of the planned protection measures, contractors gain a vivid understanding of spatial requirements.

Our commitment to innovation echoes through every aspect of our services, and the evolution of Tree Protection Plans stands as a testament to our dedication to efficiency, clarity, and sustainable arboriculture practices.

Elevating tree protection fencing audits.

Ensuring the integrity of Tree Protection Fencing is paramount during the construction phase of a development.

Traditional methods of inspecting linear fencing, typically Heras fencing, often involves manual, time-consuming site walkovers. However, with the integration of drone technology, we redefine the efficiency and thoroughness of these inspections.

This helps to minimise disruptions to construction activities.

Equipped with high-resolution cameras, they swiftly navigate the site, offering a comprehensive aerial view of the fencing layout. This perspective allows for a rapid assessment of potential issues, including identifying gaps, signs of disrepair, damage, or any unexpected movement in the fencing structure.
